Over fifteen years ago
Over fifteen years ago, Mike Martin began his specialty in environmental
toxic torts after his father was diagnosed with asbestosis. Since that time, he
has represented families of individuals suffering from occupational diseases
such as silicosis, vinyl chloride and benzene induced cancer, hard metal lung
disease, asbestosis and many other occupational illnesses. Martin has also
handled other complex product liability and personal injury cases. Committed to
public service, Martin served in the House of Representatives where he passed
landmark legislation in health insurance reform and coastal environmental
protection and was only the second first term representative in history to be
named Texas Monthly's Ten Best Legislators. As an effective trial advocate,
Martin has also offered his legal services to various environmental
organizations committed to environmental protection. Whether it is protecting
workers form hazardous substances or protecting the general public from
pollution, Martin has committed himself to these causes without reservation.
